| Can't open Address Book.addressbook!! Please help Hello, I am fairly new to the mac word/way of doing things and I don't want to be discouraged by this annoying experience. Please help if you can. I backed up my sister's address book from the mail application. I did it quite some time ago and I can't remember what method I used (export, VCard, etc.), but I copied it to a CD. In any case, I now have a file called Address Book.addressbook on this CD that I cannot open. When I try opening it with "mail", it opens up a new email with the file as an attachment. When I try opening up the attachment, it opens up another new email with itself as an attachment again. So, my sister's addressbook is blank and I want to re-import the addresses from the CD. Not sure how to do this. I tried doing a "more" command at a terminal, and I can see that stuff is there, but it's all garbled. Anyway, I don't necessarily need to see what's in it, but I was trying to just manually import everything into the address book again by cut and paste. So, any ideas? I can't import (as far as I can tell) b/c the addresses are not in the VCard or LDIF format. Thanks in advance! |

| Re: Can't open Address Book.addressbook!! Please help What program is this address book from? Whatever the program, I think you need to simply place it where the address book program normally gets its addresses from, and you should see them when you open the program. (Make sure you save the old "address" file should you want to revert back to it if this doesn't work for some reason.)
