Fuji Finepix as webcam in OS X

Hi,

I have a Finepix 602 which I would like to use as a webcam in OS X. I
have searched online and have not managed to find a driver to work for
it. I've tried using the newest version of Yahoo Messenger and the
IOexperts USB webcam driver and neither one worked. Apple System
Profiler identifies the connected device as a PC webcam but none of
the applications I tried have been able to use it.

Thanks very much in advance for your help.

All the best,

Dan

I have a FinePix2650 and don't have any info on this either. Could you let
me know what you find out? Thanks!

Sorry I can't be more help.

Kind Regards,
Nathaniel

Re: Fuji Finepix as webcam in OS X

I too have been trying to use my FinePix digicam as a webcam, only this is
on a PC. Same concept though. The FinePix software, either for Mac or for
PC, is apparently not available for download via the Internet. I guess
Fujifilm wants to make sure a person can't use their software without buying
a camera to go with it.

Crazy, but it's the only explanation I can think of. Anyway, I'm sorry to
inform you that as far as I can tell, to get any software application
program for any FinePix camera, you're going to need the original CD that
came with the camera itself.

Re: Fuji Finepix as webcam in OS X

Strange-- it should be there-- if it isn't, call Fuji and ask.

I have yet to locate my camera's CD, so I don't know if software is on
there, but I would be *very* surprised if it isn't. Where does Fuji expect a
person to get the software from, if neither from the Internet nor off of a
software CD?

Incidentally, I'm just as surprised as anyone that the software isn't
available online. Nearly every other manufacturer's software is.
