LS* files in 10.3?

Where are the LS* files that used to be stored in ~/Library/Preferences?
The suggested method of forcing icons and file types to update used to be
to delete those files and logout/in. But in 10.3 those files aren't there
or anywhere else that I could find. How do you force Launch Services to
update in 10.3?
