FAT format to Mac?

I'm new to Mac! Been reading all the books and newsgroups about this one -
if a USB hard drive is formatted as FAT32 and loaded with PC files, can it
be read by a Mac - OSX Panther?

(Don't ask me to try it - haven't received it the Powerbook yet, but am
buying peripherals for it and getting ready for the migration from PC to
OSX.)

- Pierre

Welcome to the happy side!
If you're having a problem with something on the Mac, don't think too
hard... that was my biggest problem coming from the Windows world.

Macs can read PC disks without any problems.

Enjoy!

Re: FAT format to Mac?

I am assuming that a USB drive currently formatted as NTFS is *not* readable
by a Mac - right? Not a big deal for me, I can always reformat as FAT32
(using Partition Magic will maintain the files on the disk). But if NTFS is
readable, that's an extra plus. Anyone know?
