While the data will tranfer to your Mac floppies, the file-type information won't, and as a result, your setup program won't execute, etc. Best bets: 1) find a friend with a Mac and Internet access, and download the files on your friend's Mac 2) beg, borrow, or buy an older Mac OS system CDROM disc... in most cases you can boot to the CD, and install from there. Note however, that the system CDs that came with many Mac models are hardware-specific... unless you have the same model Mac, they won't work. The CDs that were sold at the general retail level will work on all hardware supported (at that time). So look carefully over the case, and try to find the model... it should be marked somewhere! |

There are system images of MacOS around that you can put on a floppy. It is easiest if you can build the floppy on a Mac, but I have seen hints that the build can be done on a PC. This site indicates how you can create a Boot floppy under windows. I believe that it is for a 68k system. http://mes.emuunlim.com/tips/bootdisk.htm Another page on create a Mac boot floppy. http://www.headgap.com/~macstar/bootdisc1.html Robert |
