Here is the problem. Im the "Network Administrator" of a small Mac lab
at school, used for various things. There are about 7 OS 9 machines, 2
OS X with OS 9.2 Classic on them, and a OS X Server with 9.2 Classic on
it. There are also 2 printers. One is an Apple Laserwriter that prints
fine, and is connected to an ethernet hub. The other is an HP 4050
connected by USB to the server. The problem is trying to get
Pagemaker(an OS 9 App) to print to the HP. I created an Applescript on
the server, so that every time someone drags anything into a certain
drop box on the server, it prints to the HP. This is fine for the
documents and files that OS X can open. For OS 9, and Pagemaker
specificly, the Applescript executes fine, execpt Pagemaker opens in
classic, and cannot see the attached USB Printer.
Does anybody have any ideas on how to get those darn Pagemaker files to
print to that HP on the server? Replacing anything is not an option, as
we dont have the funds, but purchasing small gizmos to help will not
hurt us.
