HELP !!! OSX Download problem

I am not able to dowload anything(apps, pdf, mp3 and other files).
This problem occurs in Explorer 5.2 and Safari 1.0. In Explorer' s
dowload status window I get an error and a yellow triangle exclamation
point. In Safari the message I get "Can't create file".

I am running OSX 10.2.8 on a G3 Pismo powerbook. This problem occurs
an all types of connections, when I am connected via ethernet to the
network at work, at home via airport connection and cable, and when I
am dialling in using the modem.

Please help, I am baffled by this and can not find reference to this
problem on the K-base or anywhere else.

Could be that you don't have write privileges to the download folder
selected. Go into Safari's prefs, click on General, then select a new
download location and see if that helps.

Good luck!
