I dowloaded the firmware updater and tried to install it.
The old Imac I have had a HD initialisation so I can't upgrade the firmware
if there's not any system in the machine.

I tried to install the OS 8 in the machine but can't boot the machine with
OS8 CD.

I placed the firmware updater in the Imac HD from my zip drive but it is not
installed.

I can boot the machine with my OS9.2 CD but as stated I can't install it on
the machine.

If I try to install the firmware updater when the OS 9.2 CD is running in
the machine, I can't do it because i can't select the HD to install it

The cuda swich was pressed but it didn't do anything.

What to do now ?

You probably need to install a firware update off the OS 9 Install CD -
which means you probably have to install OS 8.x first, run the firware
updater, then install OS 9.
