| iPod song order mystery I'm having trouble figuring out how my iPod is ordering songs. For CDs that I rip myself, the iPod orders them in the same order as the songs appear on the CD. The difficulty comes when I assemble an album with songs taken from various sources. Here's an example: I have a four-song EP that myself and a friend recorded many years ago. I recently burned the four tracks to CD and ripped them to iTunes. _Then_, I received an alternate mix of one of the songs from my friend, who had ripped it himself and emailed it to me. When I place the alternate mix into iTunes, renumber the track numbers to include the new mix at the _end_ of the four tracks I already have, the iPod insists on placing the new track second in the songlist! Making sure I've sorted my library in iTunes by track number before I synch the iPod makes no difference. The only song order the iPod will show that EP is the wrong order. What's going on here and how can I can the iPod to play an album back in the order it oughta? -- Floydian Slip(tm) - "Broadcasting from the dark side of the moon" Random Precision Productions(tm) 67 Union St. #2D, Winooski, Vt. 05404-1948 USA Sundays, 7-8 pm - Champ 101.3 FM, Colchester; 102.1 FM, Randolph, Vt. ccb@floydianslip.com - AIM: RandomPrec - www.floydianslip.com |
