Panther + iDVD?

Does Panther come with iDVD 3.0? What about the other iLife apps?

Is iDVD 3.0 available as a free upgrade to OS 10.2.x, or do you have to
pay for it?

Thanks!

No to iDVD, yes to the other iLife apps.

It's not tied to the system update, it comes as part of the bundled
software with your machine (if you have a superdrive at the time of
purchase). If you got iDVD with your machine and just need to update,
contact Apple.

If you just added a Superdrive you are sure will work with iDVD (it
normally only works with internal-installed Superdrives), you will need
to buy iLife for $50.

So, Software Update doesn't do it automatically? Should I assume there's
an additional charge?

did you have it with 10.2.x?

if so, just install it from your original 10.2.x disk, and let software
update upgrade you to the latest version.

in my case, my G4 Powerbook Superdrive came with 10.2.23, the packages
are in a hidden directory called .images

which you need to access via terminal, mount the images with the open
command, then finish off with finder (drag to applications)

That's right.

As I said in a part of my post you snipped, contact Apple. I suspect,
however, that they will tell you what I told you: buy iLife for $50.
