Hello

Since Panther was installed on my boss' iMac G4, he can't print
anything on his local HP Laserjet 2300d (USB connected): Panther sees
it but when he launches a print he gets a "Printer not responding"
msg. Funny thing is he's got no problem whatsoever printing on a HP
4100 (network printer).
Is it a driver problem, or does it have something to do with the USB
connection?
I've installed all HP drivers found on Panther CD-install n°2. HP's
drivers on their website are older than Panther's and I don't think I
should install them.

Just a thought; have you tried deselecting his printer in Print Center,
then reselecting it?

I did that as well, to give it a try. It didn't work but maybe I
didn't do it well. I think I'll reinstall the HP drivers given with
the install CD of panther... and then if it doesn't work, I'll use the
old drivers... other than that, the only solution (beside changing the
printer which is not an option) would be to "go network" with this
printer... but then again, it's not a certain it would work ! ;)

There is some discussion about HP and Panther on <macfixit.com> and
possible fixes/work-arounds.
