Hi, all,

Anyone notice the very conspicuous absence of Sorenson 3 video codec on
Panther? This is especially disturbing as I have Sorenson Squeeze and QT
pro, and it _still_ deleted this codec from my machines.

Anyone know the reason for this? And, short of reinstalling Squeeze on
my machines, is there an easier way to get Sorenson3 back on my machines?

I thought I heard that Apple had its own wavelet-based compression
routines now, so they wouldn't have to pay Sorenson licence fees(?)

Do you mean Sorenson Video Pro 3.1 or the standard Sorenson codec that
comes with Quicktime?

If you mean the former, I can't get it to install on my Panther
systems either. I have tried on a clean install and on an upgrade. On
the upgrade, it was working fine in 10.2.8, but Panther breaks it so
that Squeeze can't access the Pro codec to do VBR encoding.
