| G4 PowerBook Would a Apple computer G4 connect to the internet the same way my Windows 2K laptop does, with my Win2k machine I just plug the Ethernet cable to the back and it connects instantly because I have the Router configure already. Would the Apple G4 powerbook connect the same way just by plugging in the Ethernet cable in the back as my Win2k machine does? |

One can configure their LAN several different ways. If you need help configuring your Mac, you might consider opening Mac Help and searching for 'connecting to the internet' and reading what it says as a basic primer. |

If connecting to a Cable/DSL modem or on a network with DHCP, yes, the Mac will connect and configure correctly and automatically, out of the box. If some settings have been manually edited, they can be reset in the Network Control Panel/System Pref applet. GTr |
