| Help with internet sharing. Here is my setup I have a G4 running OS 10.2.6 connected to an ethernet switch. I then a have windows machine running XP also connected to the same switch using it built-in ethernet. I then plugged the DSL modem into the uplink port on the switch. Here is the mac set-up I'm using the built in PPPoE client on the mac to connect to the internet. I've made two locations on with the PPPoE client on and the TCP/IP configured using PPP. I made another location with the TCP/IP configured using DHCP. I then turned on internet sharing. Here is the WinXP machine set-up- I set that up using the built-in set-up wizard saying that it was connect to the internet through a network. It did the rest I can't browse the internet on the WinXP machine, but I can do file-sharing. After that failed I went to the WinXP machine and deleted what I just created. I then ran in internet set-up wizard saying that I was the computer connected to the internet and other computers on this network will connect to the internet using the connection. That worked. My question is How can I do the same thing but using the G4 as the primary internet connection. Thanks for any help the herbalist |
