| need help urgently on; PS2 thru iBook to Airport Hi, I was hoping someone could help me out, I want to online game with my PS2. If I take the PS2 to my office where there is a network, wireless and wired, and plug an ethernet cable into a switch, I can go online, so I know my PS2 is configured correctly and my bandwidth adequate. Obviously I cannot play games at work and still get paid so I want to set it up at home. At home I use my iBook which has an airport card, and because I am out of sight of the wireless antenna at the office(small town) I run a "pigtail" wire from my airport card's " jack to a coax cable outside to a yagi antenna that is high enough to see the offfice antenna. What I have been trying to do is link my PS2 to the network so I can game. I have been trying to use a Asante hub FH305 but I cannot seem to hook up with my computer and just last night i was reading here that a hub cannot work like this. Any advice? Routers are $2000. canadian dollar.xpensive ones anyway Otherwise, could I run the PS2 straight into the ethernet port on the iBook(running OS 9.2), I heard elsewhere it was done but I can't nail the configuration down. Any advice out there on this? It seems that if I use Airport then I don't have connectivity to my ethernet port. I really need advice on this. Thanks |

| Re: need help urgently on; PS2 thru iBook to Airport Can't help but wonder what the urgency is? You shouldn't have a problem using more than one ethernet device on the iBook, tho my experiences in this on pre osX is nil. Are you connected using dhcp, or? | Re: need help urgently on; PS2 thru iBook to Airport conceptually, you need to route any data from your ehternet port (en0) through your airport (en1) to your office's gateway. your laptops' airport card will now be a 'wireless bridge' - try these instructions: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.p...10922863&query good luck, Hak. jstewart@nvkangiqsualujjuaq.ca (flipperdog) wrote in message news:<331e12b6.0310110813.50b51a03@posting.google. com>... > Dan A <dna@anarki.dk> wrote in message news:<bl1p4j$2k35$1@news.cybercity.dk>... > > Can't help but wonder what the urgency is? > > > > You shouldn't have a problem using more than one ethernet device on the > > iBook, tho my experiences in this on pre osX is nil. > > > > Are you connected using dhcp, or? > > > > Dna > > Hi Dan, been busy, mostly trying to solve this ;) Urgency is nothing > to do +wanna play online. > Got OSX running, and so if you have any help please advise. > > Manual settings ip etc. |
