Runaway Iphoto Process

Hi-
My Iphoto application has hung up (spinning cursor) after attempting to
delete a photo. Sadly, I just upload about 300 pictures from my camera
(with delete from camera option checked) without leaving iPhoto. I tried
killing the process with AppleKey + . ; also tried several combinations with
escape but nothing worked.

2 Questions:
1. is there another way to kill the process???
2. How often does Iphoto write to disk? I am fearful that if I "force quit"
the IPhoto app, all/some of my photo updates wouldn't have been written to
disk. Since I've deleted them from my camera, I would lose everything.

I am running Iphoto 2.0 under OS 10.2.6.

Help!

Jean

AFAIK, the only other way to stop things is a force quit, and this could well
cause a loss of images. Unfortunately, iPhoto has a history of being buggy in
these types of areas, which is why I always manually copy the image files off
of the camera and then import them into iPhoto. Much more work, but much less
chance of losing images.

Re: Runaway Iphoto Process

Steve-
Thanks for the response -- I lucked out! While Iphoto was spinning away, I
went into finder and found the files representing my pictures -- so felt
safe "forcing Iphoto to quit". Turned out everything was aok after I went
back in.

Think I might take your approach in the future though....
