Virtual PC 6 and 17" PowerMac

I'm considering the 17" PowerMac, but would like to know if anyone had any
experience using this Mac and Virtual PC to run Windows 2000 (or XP). If so,
could you please tell me how it performed?

I'd have very limited use of Windows 2000; I support some of my old VB6 and
COM+ applications but have recently moved on to the much better Java world.
So this means it would need to run Visual Studio 6.0 which includes Visual
Basic 6.0 and Vistual Interdev. It would also need to run IIS built into
Windows 2000.

I know it's not going to set any records, but I'm interested in getting
other's impressions of its usefullness. If you don't use VB or the other
development software in Virtual PC, it would be comparable to Microsoft
Office 2000 or XP (Word, Excel, etc...).

Thanks,
- Matt

Re: Virtual PC 6 and 17" PowerMac

I've been running Win2K advanced server in VPC6.1 on a G3 800MHz for about 4
months now - full screen (1024x768) @ 16bit, and it runs surprisingly well.
Running SQL Server 2000 and Siebel eBusiness client (ver7), and VB.net

by 'surprisingly well', there is sometimes a 2 - 3 sec screen delay when
switching between programs (when they're all open), and light to moderate
disk activity.
