Is there any way to disable the on/off/sleep button on the iMac? My 16
month old daughter keeps making the iMac hard restart by holding the
button down.

In a situation like that, I'd go for the low-tech solution: put a cover
over the button. An aesthetically cut piece of AOL CD taped strategically
to the computer works well for me.

Um, I'm sure your 16 month old daughter is cute as the dickens, but ...

.... how about just keeping her the hell away from expensive electrical
gadgets for a while?

'Cause the iMac is on a custom-built coffee table, and we don't have
anywhere else to put it.

Then I suggest you find someplace else to put your daughter. Kids love
computers, but computers don't love kids (not that young anyway).
