| I screwed up! Mac OS 10.5 MacBookPro Okay, let's face it...I screwed up big time. Back in 10.4 (Tiger) days I was downloading an update (I don't remember which) and in my impatience began another task on my Mac whilst the download and update progressed. BIG MISTAKE!! Since then the Mac will not shutdown nor restart without holding down the power button for several secands or taking out the battery. I thought that updating to Leopard would fix it.No deal. Still won't behave. Does anyone, anywhere, anyhow, have a solution at hand? There must be a way to fix this! Have a heart on a blunderer; I promise not to do it again. |

A clean brand new install of your OS? Not just an upgrade, since that may not fix the broken bit you have. Do back up you personal info before proceeding. |

No ill effects and when updates were done, I was invited to reboot which went as it should. Therefore presume something is amiss in your machine that had only a coincidental relationship with what you were doing whilst the install went on. |
