A coworker who has an Intel iMac told me that she puts mini dvd disks
in her slot loading superdrive and they work fine. I was always told
that the mini dvds will be stuck in the mechanism and cannot be taken
out easily. Can anyone verify this for me?

Definitely not. The slot loading Macs will jam if you put a min-disc in
them. The device is not designed for it. You can; however, get an
adapter that allows it, so perhaps that is what your co-worker does,
otherwise, she is not being truthful.
