Well, in a totally unscientific test performed just now, I placed my finger
on my wired aluminum keyboard, positioning it in the area to the right of the
return key, and it didn't feel cold to me. And, if Apple were to introduce an
aluminum mouse things such as the side buttons and scroll wheel could be in
the same white plastic as the keytops on the alulminum keyboard.

Interesting. Mine feels cold to me initially when I touch that same
area.

I seriously doubt apple will ever make a two button mouse of any
colour... A brushed aluminium mighty mouse is a possibility though. The
standard white does kind of stand out at the moment.

I just now did a touch comparison between my Apple aluminum keyboard and my
Kensington wireless mouse (made of plastic) and I didn't notice any
difference in warmness/coldness.

This happened to me a lot, and I finally ended up experimenting with
other mice. The batteries would fall out if I squeezed the mouse body
too hard, and the connection would frequently drop...did some research
and found out that was a common problem with the Kensington mouse I was
using (don't have the exact model number handy).

Currently I'm using a Logitech wireless mouse with extra buttons. It
uses a dongle in a USB port, which is a minus, but it never loses the
connection and the extra buttons are a big plus for me.
