| Emergency help required!! HI ALL. I have an ACER Aspire1640z - its about 8 months old. I am due to present a powerpoint presentation in 4 hrs and its died!!! When I press the power on button I get one long beep followed by 2 short ones. I get no display but the drive icon flashes as though machine is doing something. All I can do is force a shut down by holding down the on/off button. The problem occured after the laptop froze whilst attempting tp print a document. Is there anything I can do - I didnt back up the presentation I do have an older acer laptop - a travelmate 290 Is there anyway I can get the faulty machine sorted out asap? |

| Re: Emergency help required!! Take the batter out and unplug the a/c adapter. Take the memory out then put it back in. plug batter and adapter back in. See if the laptop boots. If not. Remove battery, a/c adapter. Hold power button down for 60 sec. This resets mother board. Then try to boot the laptop. |

| Re: Emergency help required!! Please describe what you did, including how the unit reacted when you plugged the battery back and powered up the unit. BTW: If this is an AMI BIOS then the problem is the video. Hook up an external monitor. Note. Thread moved to Acer Newsgroup
