Thanks for your excellent advice, Robear. I followed some of the
guidance of the sites your referenced. Thinks seem to go very well
until I tried MS Update. I may of had a failure because I was running
Firefox while I was running Update in IE7. I'll try again later today
without running other apps while updating.
Just for the record, here's what I did and experienced:
* Uninstalled entire .Net Framework
* Ran WindowsInstallCleanup(MSICUU2.exe)
* Ran MaxRegistryCleaner.exe
o Closed all running apps
o Automatically backed up Registry
* Ran Microsoft Update in IE7 with Custom option: Got 3 Software,
Optional MS .Net Frmwk items:
o Ver. 1.1
o 2.0 x86
o 3.0 x86
* Update failed:
o Downloading Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1 (update 1 of 3)...
done!
o Downloading Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0: x86 (KB829019) (update 2
of 3)... done!
o Downloading Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0: x86 (KB928416) (update 3
of 3)... done!
o Initializing installation... done!
o Installing Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1 (update 1 of 3)...
failed!
o Installing Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0: x86 (KB829019) (update 2 of
3)...Canceled
o Canceling updates...
Again, thanks for sharing your Microsoft wisdom,
Best wishes,
Richard
