More information. This does not appear to be exactly the same problem as
described in Knowledge Base Article 947215. The User Profile directory and
registry entries appear to be, as far as I can determine, intact. Yet the
Application Log contains event 1500, "Windows cannot log you on because your
profile cannot be loaded. Check that you are connected to the network, and
that your network is functioning correctly. " It appears that something is
corrupt, but I cannot determine what that might be.
