| Re: With WMDC can you only sync from PC to smartphone? Should work exactly as you remember AS working on XP. Can't even find what
you indicate yours says. Under "Mobile Device Settings", mine says "Change
content sync settings" and that takes you to the page that you can select or
deselect items to sync; contacts, mail, etc.
I don't find the wording you noted anywhere. The first time you sync a
device, you used to have the option of overwriting the PPC from the PC, or
combining data. I don't even recall seeing that option in WMDC. It has
seemed to merge by default when I have connected a new device, or one that
was hard reset, or that the partnership was removed.
You've never had an option of selectively overwriting data one way or the
other, it has always been a SYNC. Data changed on either device, is sync'd
to the other upon connection. You still have a little control over
'conflicts', where the same piece of data got changed on both the PPC and PC
between syncs. You get to choose which device always wins. You used to be
able to select ASK, but that is gone. This is under the 'Manage a
partnership' element of 'Mobile Device Settings'.
WMDC is version 6.1.6965 here. Is yours older?
