I've now stopped trying downloads of MS Update for now.
I've gradually been adding hardware as I rebuild (I went back to basics with
a clean HDD) The only "recent" additions are my Epson printer, My Sony Phone,
and my CReative MP3 player. I've now removed all and I'll see if this helps,
but as the fault is intermiittent, I won' know for a few days if this works.
I have just run MemTest 86 on the installed memory which passed all tests,
so it looks as if that is not the problem.
I had hoped that the error codes (or the dump file would have pointed to
which driver is giving me grief. Is there kn further info on these points?
