Re: Active Icons not displaying on desktop?

The date and time was 3/1/2008 11:28 AM, and on a whim, Trs80 pounded
out on the keyboard:

Hi (Radio Shack ;-) ),

The most common reason is when UPnP is set up. Open Network Places and
in the Network Tasks area, click "Hide icons for networked UPnP devices"
(you'll be prompted yes or no). Log off and back on and your icons will
re-appear. The down side is that the firewall settings are changed and
new devices can't be discovered.

I have to turn it off when my workstation won't be used as a media
server because a couple programs even crash on login when it's on.

It's about time MS get off their lazy butt and fix this big annoyance.
