| Q: follow links in new browser window
Recently we upgraded to IE7 and I now have an annoying problem I wish to
solve. I am using XP.
When ever I follow a link (for example within Microsoft Outlook mail) then
IE7 _replaces_ what I am looking at instead of opening a new browser
window.
This happens when I have tabs turned off.
This doesn't happen when tabs are turned on because in that case there is
an option to open a new window for the link.
This utterly boggles the mind!
! If I turn on tabs then I don't need a new window - but I have the
option to have one !
! If I turn off tabs then I _do_ need a new window - but the option to
have a new window is disabled !
I have played with the registry settings to try to turn on the "new window
opens" setting without tabs, but it doesn't appear to help.
Does anyone know of a trick to get IE7 to open a new window for each link
without having to have tabs enabled?
Thanks.
