Re: need to move office 07 to a different computer

It depends on how you acquired Office 2007. If it came pre-installed on your old machine, it cannot be moved as it is tied to that machine. If it is a retail version, then you need to use the telephone activation method to activate.

After furious head scratching, - Jimgz asked:

| How do I "de-activate" (or whatever you call it) my Office 2007 so
| that I can put it on my new laptop? I tried uninstalling off old
| laptop and then installing on new laptop and when I go to activate
| the software it tells me that I can't activate it because I've
| exceeded the number of times it could be activated.
|
| I can't believe that they would make me buy all new software just
| because I'm getting a new laptop. I can see where that would be a
| problem if I were putting it on multiple machines, but I've taken it
| off of the old one. Can anyone help?
|
| Thanks,
