That seems a bit hard to believe.
What would happen if I upgraded my hardware, (new motherboard, Hard drive
and so on).
Are you saying that I cannot re-use my legally owned copy of WinXP? MS is
forcing me to purchase another copy.
I would be quite curious to see where it says on any copy of Windows XP, (or
any of their software), that you can only use your copy once and once only.
And I would also be curious to see where it says that upgrading hardware
will mean that you need to purchase a new copy of the OS.
I am not talking about using 2 copies of one OS, but I mean to move the OS
to another machine, (as you pointed out, virtual or not, it does not
matter).
Also, I did not download it, Microsoft sent me a folder with about 50 DVDs.
So I installed my XP from a DVD, not a download.
