Your TV SUPPORTS HDMI 1.3, but it would be EXTREMELY odd if it required
it. HDMI 1.3 just adds enhancements for more accurate video and audio.
To be honest, virtually nothing that outputs HD video (HD/Blu-Ray,
cable/satellite boxes) even support it yet.

HDMI does support audio, but your video card will need HDMI output, and
some way to get the audio from the audio card to the video card. Most
only have DVI, which is video only. You can use an adaptor to convert
HDMI to video, but it will not have audio.
