My assumption was correct: Automatic Windows update was the one awakening my
laptop from hibernation, since I changed the setting to “check for updates
but let me choose whether to download and install them” the laptop did not
awake at 3:00 in the morning like it had being doing several nights in a row.
I think Automatic Updates must have been updated itself recently to have this
feature, has I never noticed this behavior before.

How would this update setting be different – in terms of received update
contents – from the setting “Install Updates Automatically (recommended)”.
What are those "Stealth" updates ? I never heard about them. Can you point me
to information about that ?
