Carey, not sure I understand your statement "This is indeed a reason why
backing up to mapped drives isn't supported". What is the reason? I have no
problem setting up my share for Full Control (in fact, it already is)...it's
just that the Complete Backup Wizard only indicates physical drivers and DVD
/ CD. Just doesn't make any sense....what good is this for people who only
have 1 physical drive? (fortunately, I do have 2). It does say that you
can't have your destination be the drive you're backing up (of course), but
if the point of having a backup is to put it somewhere other than the
physical machine itself, why did MS setup this complete backup feature this
way? Again, the file backup feature totally allows for NAS. Perhaps this
will be addressed in SP1? This feature really works pretty well....I like it
alot, but I'm having to do my backup to my second physical drive and then
move that entire directory to my NAS....then move it back when I want to do
weekly incremental backups....it's a real pain since I want to use my second
drive for other purposes than a backup.
