My guess is that the site is giving you a misleading message.
E.g. you could get the same message if your browser was not sending
a Cookie for that site or sending an obsolete Cookie for that site.
Either could occur if you were using a stored Favorite to an internal
page at that site, in which case you should delete the Cookie and visit
the site's Home page manually. Etc.
