I agree with you totally that vista stinks big time!
You are correct and lets leave it at that...

as for a possible solution to your problems...

1) to view MOV video files download and install this: (free)
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...lternative.htm

install the full version not the lite one... this will enable you to view
MOV files via windows media player.

2) To burn CD's and DVD's download this VISTA COMPATIBLE free Burner
program: http://www.cdburnerxp.se/home This is fully vista compatible.

3) I suggest you download and use these 2 programs:
a) www.gomplayer.com for viewing almost all types of videos with no
problem at all. FREE
b) www.xnview.com to view hundreds of types of images very fast. FREE
