That option is only available through about January 2008 as far as OEM
is concerned.

You may get many diverse opinions on this question.
For me, Windows Vista has been performing Well for about 11 months.

Windows vista will continue to improve as 3rd parties continue to
improve their drivers and Windows Vista compatible programs.

I use a mix of Windows XP and Windows Vista on my computers.
There is no need to upgrade simply because there is a new operating
system.
Windows XP will probably be supported for several more years and most
should wait until the need for a new computer or other requirements
suggest upgrading to windows Vista.
