I've upgraded both a Lenovo X41 and X60 to Windows Vista. I would highly
recommend a clean install. As time goes on, my computers have slowed to the
point that a clean install is going to need to be done regardless. The X41
was used during testing, so a clean install came fairly quickly. There was
a world of difference.
An upgrade took several hours. The time would have been more productively
spent in just doing a clean install to start.
There are also bits and pieces left over from XP that tend to be confusing
in some terminology, although nothing critical.
