I thought it was Tablet specific, cos I wrote the same question in the XP Networking forum and got no reply, the WLAN card is built into the Compaq TC1000 Tablet PC and it is set to get an automatic IP address and I had previously tried ipconfig /renew and release but get
"An error occurred whilst renewing Wireless Network Connection 2: The requested service provider could not loaded or initialised."

I tried an Alternate Configuration with an IP address which the WLAN card has picked up (192.168.1.20) when I do ipconfig /all, there is no value next to the Connection Specific DNS suffix or and no value next to the Default Gateway. The primary DNS suffix value is empty and the Node type is "Hybrid". Both IP Routing and WINS proxy are not enabled.

I can ping the default gateway okay

So in the Wireless LAN Connection status I have 157 packets sent and 33 received but I can't connect IE.

(The other LAN Connection is definitely disabled)

Any pointers?
