Your probably in the wrong forum, since this isn't a tablet specific
problem. The 169 address range is being assigned because the device cannot
attach to a DHCP service (should be enabled on the local wlan router).
If you can attach using wep, then you have 'link' connectivity. I'd suggest
opening the link properties for the wlan card, open the tcpip properties and
make sure it's configured to optain an ip address automatically. Then open a
dos prompt and enter
IPCONFIG /RENEW to get a new address.
