| Re: Can start program from the desktop, but not from the start menu Your start menu shortcuts are an amalgam of more than one address -
something like:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
and
C:\Users\Doug\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
and I am wondering whether in one of these they have different permissions
than you have (as User) on your desktop? And can you right click on the
Start Menu shortcuts and run them "As Administrator"? Sorry, not very
helpful but it may suggest something.
