The problem is that OEM vendors are allowed to design the recovery options
anyway they see fit. They think that restoring your system to the factory
settings is a good option.

You might want to look into a third party product like Acronis True Image.
This program has the ability to create a backup image and create it's own
boot disk to restore the image.
