When you go to the control panel and look through the add or remove programs
list, does it populate correctly Note: make sure you tick off show windows
Updates
Do you have Windows Installer 3.1[KB893803] installed
Do you have a Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications[kb905474] update on
your computer....
And if you have any anti-virus or firewall Non-Microsoft programs, what
might you be running?
Because any ani-virus or firewall, may have a conflict with the IE 7. being
that IE 7 comes bundled with certain protections that Microsoft thinks people
should have, They are thinking that no-one buys anti-virus or firewalls other
than what Microsoft supplies...so they included some of that in IE 7, that is
why I un-installed IE 7 and Went back to 6.0
