Hmm... as I recall, you cannot do a restore to "Windows Vista Basic".
RC1 was "Ultimate" and the restore function requires Premium, Business
or Ultimate. So IMHO, you will need to move upwards.
By the way, why in the world did you buy Windows Vista Basic? As a RC1
beta tester, you should have known that Vista Basic is nothing more
than a marketing ploy to get people to buy Vista even though they have
bare bones hardware. Live and learn!
