Well, apparently the problem had something to do with one of several addons
or programs I had installed related to IE7. after the last message failed
yet again, I went though and uninstalled AM-Deadlink, IE Spell, Inline
Search, Snipit, Bloglines plugin, and Roboform. At this point my closing
issue seems to have left, and for chuckles I tried installing the Wu Update
file again. It gave me a message that it was already installed, so I di as
you suggested sometime earlier and did a force install, and it worked. So, it
would appear that whichever addon or program that was messing up closing IE
also must have had something to do with stopping the Wu update from
installing.. I guess anyway.

After I make sure I do not have a problem closing IE after posting this
message, I will try reinstalling the addons one at a time and see if the
closing problem comes back. Maybe one of them had gotten corrupted.
