Re: Outlook Express Emails

EllieSue,

Are you sure they aren't in the MailStoreRoot?

Example:

C:\Documents and Settings\[Username Here]\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\{Class ID Here}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

By default the Local Settings folder is hidden. To view hidden
files/folders:

Open a folder
Clcik the TOOLS menu | Folder Options
Click the VIEW tab & change the option to SHOW HIDDEN FILES & FOLDERS

Then you can navigate to the said folder or you can do it this way too:

Open Outlook Express
Click TOOLS menu | OPTIONS
Click the Maintenance tab & click the STORE ROOT button (check to see if the
location is like the one I pasted above. If not, change the store root to
that one)
Now, double-click the path & copy it
Cancel that dialog & the Options one too

Open any folder or even Internet Explorer & paste the path collected earlier
into the address bar & press ENTER which will open the Mail Store Root

You are looking for DBX files. Make sure you back them up before doing
something with them

Another way of finding them is to search for files & folders for '*.dbx'
(without quotes) & locate them that way. Change the MailStoreRoot folder to
that folder (instructions above)

I hope this helps,
