This "navcancl" with IE7 issue does not appear to be an addin or
installation issue. I don't know what the conflict is and why some
computers misbehave and others don't but I can replicate the issue
100% simply by toggling Phishing Filter on and off.
I was having the same issue even with the home page set to
about
:blank
and all addons disabled using the "Internet Explorer (No Addons)"
shortcut from the System Tools under Accessories. When I used the
"iexplore.exe -nohome -extoff" extensions, IE7 would open but as
soon as I went anywhere, even
www.google.com, I'd get the dreaded
Navcancl message. Disabling Phishing Filter rectified all issues.
However, I have many users here who do not have the problem with the
update installed and Phishing Filter enabled.
Temporary Solution...
1. Start IE7 using Start->Run iexplore.exe -nohome -extoff
2. Right click on the toolbar area and tick Menu Bar if its disabled
2. Tools->Options->Advanced->Security->Disable Phishing Filter
I tried with no luck a complete reinstall of IE7 followed by
reinstalling Microsoft Update 91768 but the update broke it again.
