Problem solved: used msconfig selective startup/disable all non ms
services/restart/ worked fine-- and then by elimination traced problem to
firewall (computer associates firewall) eliminated that firewall and IE
functions normally.

Running windows XP sp2 IE7 fails to open any page. At point of failure
there is a brief flash on the status bar that says dn? sensor error. (The
message disappears so quickly it is hard to read.) Fire fox will open pages
just fine. Any help on how to correct this error is appreciated.
