I'll commiserate and add some data for others. I'm experiencing exactly what
you are, except with different sites -- my worst site is www.fedex.com, which
takes several minutes with IE7 on Vista and never completely loads, and never
times out. The problem seems to be in downloading page items which must not
be prevalent in other pages. I have IE7 on 2 XP machines and have no problems
with the same pages. The IE7 version is 7.0.5730.11 on the XP machines. The
IE7 version on the Vista machine is 7.0.6000.16386. Out of frustration I
installed Firefox on the Vista machine and have no problems with the pages
that won't come up on IE7. I've tried to compare the advanced settings
between my XP and Vista machines, but the dialogs have changed so much
between these two versions -- which you would think would not be the case! --
that comparison is almost impossible. Like yourself, I've turned on and off
everything I could find in McAfee, firewallls, and IE7 options -- with no
success. At this point, I'm just going to use Firefox. BTW -- the Vista
machine is wired, one XP desktop is wired, and my XP laptop is wireless.
There's no performance difference and no problems with the 2 XP machines.
