You are not alone, the same thing is happening to me. If I run my wireless router in unsecured mode, it works fine, I get five bars of connectivity. As soon as I add security, my connectivity starts to drop down to almost nothing and eventually I loose my connection. I have an XP laptop and a Vista laptop. The XP laptop works perfectly connecting to the route while sitting about 6 inches away from the Vista machine, the Vista machine connects after a reboot, but after a short time looses its connection and cannot connect back to it without a reboot.
