I too am having a display problem, essentially there are hundred's of squiggly lines running across the display.
what i did find is that it affects the VGA output also so if i connect a monitor it still does it, after opening up the case, I tightened all the screws on the power button board (I call it an LED board because old Compaq Armada's were notorius for having video issues and the fix was ussually to replace it) that fixed it for a short time, but i found that if i put pressure on the case near the power button it straightens out the display.
my laptop is an older VGN-a250, does anyone know if i can get just that part?
